• Rear-View Mirror Charms: Athena notices that all the vehicles in the Roadside Paradise troupe have a charm hanging near the rear-view mirror/camera. These are protection charms to keep the troupe safe while on the road, blessed by V himself.
• Athena's Snooping: In Chapter 3 when Athena is snooping through the troupe in the middle of the night she keeps thinking she sees someone moving in the shadows, and once wonders if someone was on top of one of the trucks watching her--there was. Roadside Paradise has a few vampires in the troupe who help protect the troupe at night and they were watching Athena very carefully as she snooped.
• Izrail: Athena notices that the wolf seems to have magical powers as well, but will not learn until later that he is a "familiar" meant to regulate V's magic so the deity does not become a danger by becoming too powerful.
• The Guild of the Red Dragon: In Chapter 12 when V explains the Guild of the Red Dragon and how red dragons specifically were worshipped with their power, this is directly linked to the fact that the Overseer is a red dragon.
• The Contract with V: Despite Andrew Donovan seeming irritated and angry at the contract formed between Athena and V, he actually orchestrated the entire event to be sure he knew the moment V was attached to another contractor. More will be explored later in the series.
• Keili's WWII Contract: Despite what V says in Chapter 18 when he explains the contract his older brother Keili had during WWII with a dictator, it is not the guy in history with the funny moustache.
